Red Feather Starfish

The Red Feather Starfish are one of the most beautiful marine inverts found. They have relatively small central body that can be surrounded by up to 200 arms which are fine lateral branches that gives the arms the appearance of a fine feather. They hang onto various reef structures where they will then extend their arms into the current to catch plankton, for locomotion they will wave their arms in a stunning manner and swim through the water column.

Provide the Red Feather Starfish with his steady moderate to strong water current. Feed them often with a mix of plankton foods. They are sensitive to changes in specific gravity, temperature, pH and oxygen levels in the aquarium. These organisms are extremely fragile and delicate and care must be taken when handling.
