Black Trigger also known as the Hawaiian Black Trigger, Indian Trigger or Black Finned Trigger are a Circumtropical species found in places such as Ryukyu and Ogasawara islands to Tuamoto Islands, California, USA to Malpelo Island, Colombia, Florida, USA and Bahamas to Brazil, St. Paul's Rocks, St. Helena, Ascension Island, Rolas Island, and Cape Verde, São Tomé Island, Durban, Natal, South Africa.

The Black Triggerfish have a brown body and black fins with white lines at the base of the dorsal and anal fins.

An aquarium with rocks and caves provides a good habitat for the Black Triggerfish, however, it will tend to rearrange the landscaping and rocks.

The Black Triggerfish needs a varied diet of meaty foods including; squid, krill, clams, small fish and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their ever growing teeth.
