The Giant Jewel Damsel is dark blue with sparkling blue dots as a Juvenile. As the fish matures, they turn to a dark navy blue.
They are overly aggressive, and therefore, only one should be kept per tank and with other pugnacious fish. A larger aquarium is required for this species.
The Giant Jewel Damsel will maintain 'algae lawns' from which it will graze.
The Giant Jewel Damsel feeds on a variety of meaty items, herbivore preparations, and flaked foods, however its diet should be high in vegetable matter.
