The Lemon Butterflyfish is mainly yellow with many dark spots on its sides forming vertical stripes. It has a black bar through the eyes and its fins are yellow. The Lemon Butterflyfish is a good beginner fish that requires an aquarium with plenty of room to swim and a peaceful fish community. It may be kept singly or in pairs if introduced into the aquarium at the same time. This species of Butterflyfish is not recommended for the reef aquarium. Its diet should consist of finely chopped meaty foods such as marine fish, crustacean meat, and mysis shrimp. A vitamin formula with the meats will keep the yellow coloring bright.
