The Leopard blenny, is a beautiful medium-sized blenny. Their base colour is usually cream-white to pink, with small clustered spots which range from brownish to orange to reddish and even purplish. These spots get darker towards the head and although flashy looking in our tanks, in nature this pattern serves quite well as camouflage on the corals they live on (mostly SPS like Acropora, Porites and Millepora).
These fish are usually found on clear coastal reefs living between or on corals. Although they do eat food like krill and mysis, these fish are considered obligate corallivores and thus will only thrive in a tank with live corals (in this case mainly SPS). To successfully keep this fish a large tank with many fast growing SPS corals is needed, but do remember they’ll do notable damage to these corals.
