The Stigmaticus Sailfin anthias, is a small Anthias species. The genus Rabaulichthys is little known in the aquarium world, although most species are not uncommon in nature. R. stigmaticus is a beautiful reddish-purple with an orange square on the side and a large spot in the dorsal fin.
In nature, it lives in small groups of 3-8 individuals on the outer reef slopes. It can be a little shy in the beginning, but once settled males will regularly flair with their large dorsal fins and they are a blast to watch. Like most anthias, you do need to make sure it gets enough food (multiple feedings a day), but is no difficult fish otherwise.
