The Spotted Garden Eel has small black speckles and three black spots on the body.
The main portion of the Spotted Garden eel is usually buried in the sand, and if approached, retreats into the substrate. The Spotted Garden Eel should be kept in an aquarium with at least 6 inches of sand, a gentle current, and without aggressive tank mates. Decor should be kept at a minimum. A tight-fitting lid is required to prevent escape.
They should be kept in small goups for example 12 Eels can be kept in a 700 L system.
The Spotted Garden Eel diet consists of live foods such as Brineshrimp, mysis shrimp or smaller feeder shrimp.
