The Strawberry Dottyback is best described as magenta.
They may become aggressive towards other Dottybacks or fish with similar body shapes. It is easy to keep in an aquarium when provided with numerous hiding places.
The diet consists of meaty foods such as brine shrimp and prepared frozen foods. Foods should be enriched and varied in order to preserve its beautiful colouration.
This species can be confused with the Orchid Dottyback (P.fridmani) however it lacks the black line running through its eye.
