The Surge Dottyback, is a quite variable small fish from the dottyback family. Their head is yellow to reddish-orange and their back half is blue to purplish. Some have a pale back, others dark blue. And just below this is a horizontal stripe which usually is yellow, but can also be orange. But all of them have around 8-10 greenish blue vertical stripes on their body.
These fish are not as popular as some of the other dottybacks from the family, which is really too bad, because they're one of the friendlier Dottybacks. They can even be a little shy, but with enough flow in the tank they will come out because them seem to love flow. These fish can best be kept alone or as a proven pair. They are carnivores, so make sure to feed them a varied diet of meaty live and frozen food combined with good quality flakes and pellets.
