The Yellow Brotula is mostly a yellow or yellowish orange colour although some individuals can be a pale brown colour.
They are a voracious predator that will hunt small crustaceans and fish, they have been known to bite clam mantles. Known as one of the most secretive marine fish species, this species is best kept in a smaller and dimly lit system. Provide plenty of live rock hiding places.
They are best observed by using a red light during the night when they are most active and hunting.
The diet of the Yellow Brotula should consist of live brineshrimp, Mysis, Feeder shrimp and chopped meaty foods.
