The Yellowfin Dwarf Angel Fish sports showy yellow pectoral fins that contrast dramatically against a dark brown body coloration with metallic navy-blue vertical bars. As its common name suggest, the yellow pectoral fins appear like moonbeams peering through a dark midnight sky. The effect of this striking coloration is accentuated as the Yellowfin Angelfish swims.
An aquarium with lots of hiding places and live rock for grazing will provide a good environment.
Caution is advised if introducing the Yellowfin Dwarf Angelfish to a reef aquarium since it may nip at stony and soft corals.
The Yellowfin Dwarf Angelfish is hermaphroditic, and has no distinguishable differences in color between male to female.
